Abstract
Active integration of intermedia literary technique results in a paradigm shift as well as in poet’s intention to overcome traditional forms and genres and represent the message by means of other semiotic signs. The incorporation of the visual component into the verbal poetic structure ensures the development of the visual poetry – a new genre of intermediality.  The  article  reviews  the  most  common  understandings  of  the  visual  poetry  and  its  place  in  the  contemporary literature. It suggests a particular strategy for the interpretation process of the verbal and visual components. The author also presents the analysis of two poetic texts with the dominant visual component within their structure.

This paper focuses on the analyses of blessing formulas in modern Yiddish including such characteristics as situation, communicators’ roles, situation signs, cultural facts, and thematic verb classes. This approach enables to examine with what actions, processes or states the native speakers of Yiddish associate welfare as well as who or what can be its bearer, recipient or source.

According to cognitive theory, human reason arises from the nature of our brains, bodies, and bodily experience. This article studies the emotive and expressive function of rhetorical questions in the structure of argumentative statements used in scientific and academic texts. The rhetorical question in this type of texts has a pragmatic function of attracting attention, activating the perception of information and persuading. Argumentation in scientific and academic texts is characterized by its appeal not only to the rational, but also to the emotional structures of the human consciousness. Therefore, argumentation in this type of texts is axiological by nature.

The article discusses the problems of communicative counseling. The latter is regarded as a branch of applied linguistics, related to the optimization of the hominization function of language and speech. Communicative counseling involves: 1) the application of knowledge about the structure and functioning of language in order to improve the use of a sublanguage or a language and communicative competence of personality, 2) a set of procedures designed to help people in solving communication problems and making important decisions in the field of professional, personal and interpersonal communication. Abstract
The paper presents a study of typical deviations from the norm in child speech on various levels of the English language. It is argued that the child discourse in a literary work is represented by only a limited range of specific elements and is subject to the author’s stylization. Since speech peculiarities are a crucial constituent of a literary character, an adequate translation of child contaminated speech is still a challenge for both theory and practice of translation.

Terminological diversity of hypertext theory and the structure of German Internet advertising hypertexts are viewed and analyzed in the paper. The most important node in a hypertext structure is the entering node. In most cases the entering  node  appears  as  an  animated  banner.  This  animated  banner  can  have  the  “plot”  which  increases  the effectiveness of advertisement influence.

Abstract
The development of linguistics results in the broadening of meaning of scientific terms applyed to language units. The article discusses synonymous relations involving into the sphere of semantic analysis both simple and complex language units of different language levels. Morphological, lexical, word-formation and syntactical units are regarded from the point of their meaning equality. The development of cognitive approach to language studies allows reconstructing the structures of knowledge which are considered as deep levels of semantics. Applying the framepropositional modeling method to a group of words united by one stem and common semantics allows restoring the situation description of the real world, specifying the semantic roles of the nominated participants. Regarding the issue of synonymous relations on basis of propositional structure of cognate words family semantics reveals the basic reasons for naming the same event with the help of different language means.

World conceptualization and conceptualization of oneself as a part of this world is reflected in the updated genre form of self-presentation that allows to understand the official component of the self-reflection of the European Union as the subject of conceptualization. The understanding is possible at allocation of the main conceptual zones, to which correspond the conceptual meanings contained in the EU’s media self-presentation texts.

It takes into account the spatial etymology of the prefix and considers the prefixed verbs from the standpoint of the semes acquired by virtue of the prefixation and from the standpoint of the described situation and situation concept.

Abstract
This article presents some results of a corpus-based study to identify and classify some social dimensions of the concepts ‘MAN’ and ‘WOMAN’ represented by collocations of the lexemes ‘man’ and ‘woman’ with attributive adjectives in the Corpus of Contemporary American English. The findings are based on the frequency of occurrence and the ‘nominative density’ of the conceptual features, as well as the Mutual Information Score indicative of a‘semantic bonding’ between the collocates. The semantic analysis of the adjectives helps to identify ‘cultural and national connotations’ of the conceptual features they represent.
