MODELS OF GENDER UPBRINING IN THE ETHNO-CULTURAL SPHERE OF THE ADYGS

Abstract

The specificity of gender educationwithin the Adygs’ national culture provides a comprehensive development of the child’spersonality. The agents of socialization were families, peer groups and communities. The main method of children’supbringing of was considered that of imitation: the stereotypes of male and female behavior were implemented in children’s consciousness through direct observation of adult men’s and women’sbehaviour.
