LINGUO-PRAGMATIC STRATEGY OF LITERARY TRANSLATION
Abstract
The paper discusses some particular features of literary translation in the light of linguo-pragmatic adequacy of the
final translation product. The study is built around one of the most complex translation shifts - modulation, which is
indicative of the general creative individuality of a translator and variability of his/her translation technique. The source
text, M. Mitchells Gone with the Wind, as well as its Russian translation are subject to a comparative analysis.
