The psychological determinants of human life are undergoing major changes in modern conditions of geopolitical instability. As a result, such issues as attitude to personal safety, cognitive dysfunction, legal relations, extreme natural and climatic conditions, personal value, life planning, etc., demand a syncretism of general, personality, social, educational, and clinical branches of psychology. The opening section of Cognitive Studies and Mental Spaces: Normal vs. Pathological Conditions tells about cognitive deviations caused by various diseases. I. A. Izyumova studied information processing in patients with Parkinson’s disease and reported that input data get distorted as early as at the stage of preservation, which disrupts the consolidation and reconsolidation processes in this group of patients. E. V. Shchetinina et al. wrote about patients with cognitive deficiency that suffered their first episode psychosis: they were unable of critical evaluation of their current state, which often hindered the therapy. A. V. Solodukhin et al. constructed a model for prevention and correction of post-COVID-19 cognitive dysfunction. T. M. Krasnyanskaya and V. G. Tylets performed comprehensive research on the mental representation of danger and safety in patients with different types of uncertainty. In their study, danger had a less complex mental structure than safety, which consisted of temporal, objective, and subjective types of uncertainty. G. A. Sidorova and M. S. Ivanov described the concept of personal safety in teenagers with intellectual disabilities. The section of Ontology and Sociogenetics of Life Fulfilment introduces original studies of age-related psychological and socio-psychological conditions, patterns, features, factors, and mechanisms. D. S. Beznosov identified different approaches to the concept of legal relations. O. V. Gruzdeva and E. V. Ulybina studied self-awareness formation during early ontogenesis. I. V. Kalashnikova, K. N. Belogai, A. A. Kulik, and A. V. Mazurkevich described the effect of extreme climatic environment on personality development and lifestyle. The final section, Psychological and Pedagogical Issues of Personality Development, covers some relevant issues of education and upbringing in personality formation. N. B. Karabushchenko et al. interviewed students of engineering and technical professions as Russia’s future scientific and technical elite. They found out that the students often experienced emotional problems and needed to be taught stress-coping strategies. P. Yu. Naumov and I. V. Kholikov proved that a value-based attitude to the norms of international humanitarian law could help military students to develop as a wholesome personality. Yu. V. Olkhova and M. V. Safonova studied life planning skills in high school students. L. V. Skorova and Ya. V. Novgorodtseva considered the concept of fatherhood, which they defined as the father’s involvement in the life of his children, the way he interacts with them, and his ability to identify himself with his family role.
