ON THE EVOLUTION OF THE POLITICAL ROLE OF THE ARMY IN THE ARAB WORLD
Abstract
The paper highlights the major changes in the political role of the Arab world armies, which played an important role in Muslim countries’ democratic reforms known in today’s political vocabulary as the “Arab Spring”. The concept of “new professionalism” of militaries in the Arab world is explored.
