Abstract
The paper focusesthe manifestations of the prehistoric man’s spiritual life, as they are revaled in the images of ancient art. The dominant role belongs tothe bodily appearance which occurs inseparation from the natural. Updating and transcendental experiences appear. The main representation of primitive spiritual life in the art is the image of the beast.
