SUPPLICATION GENRE AND THE MEANS OF ITS LANGUAGE IMPLEMENTATION

Abstract

This work was written with its topical genre tendency due to anthropocentricity of modern linguistic science. The genre of supplication, claimed as the object of the study, is presented as a special model of verbal expression, a certain complex of structured genre characteristics. One of these is the linguistic embodiment of the genre, whose uniqueness is defined by its specific character as a performative utterance and by the situation in which the genre form is implemented. The study was performed on the material of the artistic discourse, since supplication is one of the brightest plot-structuring elements allowing literary artists to observe the behavior of their characters in emotionally stressful situations. This work summarizes the data of previously conducted researches and somewhat expands existing ideas about the specifics of the language (lexical, grammatical) means which represents the designated genre that, by combining, are used to achieve the perlocutionary effect. This work also examines nonverbal (gestural, mimic) means of supplication. The fundamental conclusion of the work is the statement that the supplication genre is a certain scenario with a standard set of linguistic resources.
