Abstract

The article focuses on the features of repeat nominations in the texts of judgments in civil cases. Particular attention
is drawn to the repeated use of the pronominal nominations. Repeat nominations are treated in the aspect of focus
(discourse) anaphora, that is, as conceptualizations of a reference point. The reference point introduces the information
about the item that would be re-nominated further in the text. The authors examine the dependence of repeat
nominations use on the judgment composite structure and formulate suggestions for the optimal use of repeat
nominations of the plaintiff and the defendant in the studied texts.
