NEW RESEARCH PARADIGMS AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY SCIENTIFIC SCHOOL

Abstract

The paper focuses on the scientific school “Russian literature in the context of Christian culture” at Kemerovo State University, which was established since a new sphere of the literary study in Russia was being developped. The subject of research is the works of Russian writers of the 19th-20th centuries as well as their correlation with Christian and Orthodox culture as basis for Russian integrity, way of life and mentality. The artistic understanding of “liturgical text”, Biblical images and motifs in the works by V. Zhukovsky, A. Pushkin, V. Küchelbecker, M. Lermontov, N. Gogol, F. Dostoyevsky, L. Tolstoy and I. Shmelyov is analyzed. The work of the scientific laboratory and the supplementary education programme “The basics of the Orthodox culture” (Department of Russian Literature and Folklore) are presentedwithin the framework of the school.
