CONDITIONS AND PECULIARITIES OF FOREIGN LITERATURE PERCEPTION AND COMPREHENSION

Abstract

The paper reveals the conditions and peculiarities of a foreign language text perception and comprehension. Work with foreign language texts includes both active developments of linguistic resources, and learners mastering various forms of interaction and communication, which promotes cross-cultural competence. The main criteria for the selection of texts are linguistic and semantic accessibility, relevance to students’ age and interests, belonging to different literary genres, thematic affinity with the works of native literature.
