THE SECOND ENLARGEMENT OF THE EUROPEAN UNION: POLITICS VERSUS ECONOMICS. GREECE
Abstract
The author discusses the process of Greece’s accession to the European Union. He analyzes the reasons why the economically weak country that had just escaped the dictatorship of the “black colonels” was able to persuade the EU members to start accession talks and finish them relatively quickly.
