LOCAL COMMUNITY AS A KEY ACTOR OF TOURISM DESTINATION

Abstract

The paper addresses the role of destination community as a key actor of tourism system and highlights the necessity of its participation in the process of tourism product creation. The specific features of tourism destination have been considered: attractions, tourist facilities and infrastructure, accessibility, human resources, image, price and destination management organization. The resident-tourist relations have been observed and approaches to management of social and cultural impact of tourism (limitation, «front stage» and «backstage») have been analyzed. The research methods are: system approach, analysis and synthesis, comparison and analogy. The results of the research could be applicable in the process of elaborating the strategic documents and projects devoted to regional tourism development in Russia.
