CONCEPTUALISATION OF THE ISSUE OF TOURIST DESTINATION COMPETIVENESS IN FOREIGN RESEARCHES

Abstract

The paper presents the analysis of different researchers’ theoretical views on competitiveness of tourist destinations. Three main directions of researching tourist destinations competitiveness are outlined. The differentiation of the tourist destinations comparative and competitive advantages is the most important point for the research and practical application of tourist markets conceptual models. Two key attempts to improve G. I. Crouch and J. Ritchie’s model are analyzed in this research. Practical application of the conceptual models allows to increase the competitiveness of the tourist product and to improve the efficiency of tourist destination competitiveness management. Adaptation of this model to the specific tourist market and service diversification can help to develop sustainable tourism at different levels. The more update the model is, the higher attractiveness and competitiveness of a tourist destinations are.
