WAYS OF EXPRESSING EMOTIONS IN THE FRENCH NOVELRY (BASED ON LES CATILINAIRES BY AMELIE NOTHOMB)

Abstract

This paper envisages the emotionality of the novelry as the basis of its coherence. The author gives a classification of emotions and describes the ways of expressing emotions in the novelry. The article also provides the results of analysing Amelie Nothomb’s novel Les Catilinaires from the standpoint of the ways of expressing emotions. The author determines the most frequent ways used in this novel and formulates its emotional and semantic dominant.
