ON PROMISING USE OF THE RESOURCE POTENTIAL OF TOURISM AND RECREATION INDUSTRY IN THE REGION

Abstract

The paper makes an attempt to review the implication of the resource potential in the development of the tourism industry of the region. The paper focuses on the problem of the preservation of the opportunity to use natural and principal economic resources for tourism and recreation in the long run. The review is based on the example of the Caucasian Mineral Waters region of Stavropol Territory of Russia and is aimed at revealing this experience to the territories that only initiate the development of tourism industry.
The paper presents the mechanism of joint use of natural resources and ways of its implementation, worked out by the author. The paper shows some stages of this mechanism on the example of the tourist region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The author suggests some social and economic activities to develop the potential of modern workforce for tourism industry and brings up the problem of the required facilities. It indicates the tasks for the creation of legal foundation for economic relations for the effective use of the resources. All results of the study can be applied. The will enable stakeholders (businesspeople and authorities) in tourist regions and resorts to apply the proper approach to forward management in the industry.
