EXISTENTIAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE TOURIST CENTERS IN ALTAI REGION

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the development of tourism in the socio-cultural development of the territory of Altai region, which allowed distinguishing several periods in recreational activities that differ in many ways: the main motive, the number and the range of participants, the nature of the organization, the degree of mobility, the method of transportation and others. These periods of recreation development are correlated with the stages of socio-cultural development of the territory. The author disctovered that most of the tourist centres retain their value over several stages being quasi-stationary (Lake Teletskoe, Lake Aya, Lake Manzherok, Chemal village; some centers) and attract tourists only in some periods.
