В статье исследуются термины – английские глаголы с послелогом с позиции когнитивного подхода. Для осуществления данной цели было проведено исследование последовательности основных этапов технологического процесса горного производства. Дано описание прототипической ситуации на примере сценария «поиск и разведка месторождения» и выделены термины, наиболее полно описывающие данную ситуацию. Проведен анализ употребления глаголов с послелогом в английских горных текстах: частотность употребления, возможные значения, используемые послелоги, место и форма употребления в предложении, дополнительная информация, полученная от окружения терминов в контексте.

The paper examines the terms – English verbs with a postposition with the help of the cognitive approach. To reach this goal of the study the main sequence of stages of the process of mining production was found out. A description of the prototypical situation of the first stage of mining – «Prospecting and exploration» was given. The terms that best of all describe the situation are selected. The use of verbs with a postposition in English mining texts was analyzed, concerning the frequency of the use of the terms, the possible meanings, used postpositions, the place and form in sentences, additional information received from the sentence context.
